The Kimsey Family

William S. Kimsey and his wife Sarah R. Patterson came with the Georgia Colony. Sarah died in 1901.
William Kimsey was the local magistrate. His homestead was on Valley Road and he had a ranch on Middle Creek.

Their children were:
1. James who married Mrs. Maud Brown;
2. Joseph R. who married Olive B. Truby who died, then Flossy Bowman;
3. Grove or Charles;
4. William Henry;
5. Martha Caroline "Mattie" who married Corin Frantz Davis - they had two children - Floyd S. Davis and Mabel Davis. After Corin's death in 1919, Mattie married Pete Spicer
6. Jane "Jennie" who married Joseph Zimmerman;
7. Lily who married Jap Bruce;
8. Katerin Laird;
9. Docia who married C.A. Doty;
10. Laura who married a Doty;
11. Dora who married Jap Bruce after Lily died;

My great grandparents were Martha Caroline Kimsey(1868-1935) & Corin Frantz Davis (1865-1921) - Corin was the brother of Ory Thomas "O.T." Davis the pioneer photographer

Their children were:
Floyd Sylvester Davis (1865-1921)
Mabel L. Davis Nissen

Floyd Davis was my grandfather and he was born and died in LaVeta and is buried in the Davis plot at the La Veta Pioneer cemetery along with his father Corin Frantz Davis, his uncle O.T. Davis (1859-1945) and their parents Sylvester Davis (1835-1912) and Lavina Thomas Davis (1837-1916). As well as my father Charles J. Davis, Sr. (1919-1981)
