Births

Colorado Chieftain Weekly 10-22-1868 Born in Pueblo on the 16th inst., to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pickard, a son.

Pueblo Colorado Daily Chieftain 5-21-1873 All who have seen N. W. Duke the past couple of days, wonder at his smiling countenance, but all did not know that on last Sunday morning a little girl baby came to his home - "that's what's the matter" with Duke.

Pueblo Colorado Daily Chieftain 5-21-1873 Mr. John D. Miller's heart was made glad Sunday last by the arrival in his home of a baby daughter.

Colorado Weekly Chieftain 10-29-1874 Born Oct. 20th, 1874 to the wife of Judge A.P. George, a son.

Colorado Weekly Chieftain 10-29-1874 Commissioned - Our worthy citizen, Judge George, has not for some days past been seen on our streets. It was rumored that he had gone to Washington expecting a commission form Gen. Grant for some lucrative office. On Wednesday last he put in an appearance, and the amount of dignity displayed by him was unusual. Some great trust had been placed in his keeping or else maybe he had fallen heir to great fortune. By reference to our "Births" it will be seen that the judge is commissioned a father, and the fortune is a ten thousand dollar son - a nine pounder. All well.

Colorado Weekly Chieftain 10-29-1874 The following letter was received at our office on Wednesday: "I have got a bouncing big girl, born on the 18th at half past six." As the letter has no signature we can't say who it is that has that "bouncing big girl." - Our old friend Mr. R.N. Daniels is the father of that big bouncing girl mentioned in our issue yesterday. We presume that Robert was so overjoyed by the event that he forgot to sign the letter. He has our congratulations.

Colorado Daily Chieftain 8-18-1875 Mr. Julius Berry returned from a trip to Denver, Tuesday evening, and found on arriving home his family increased by the addition of a little daughter.

Colorado Weekly Chieftain 1-2-1879 Born on Sunday the 29th instant to the wife of R.M. Stevenson, a daughter.

Colorado Weekly Chieftain 1-30-1879 A note from our friend Walter Chermside brings glad tidings that he has a son and heir, born January 21st. He has been waiting for such an event to happen for six long years. His family now consists of three girls and one boy. The Chieftain congratulates him on his final success.

Colorado Weekly Chieftain 2-6-1879 On Saturday last a young lady came to the house of our friend L.C. Powell, on the Greenhorn. She is diminutive in size and light of weight, but there is a heap of land to the acre in that country and she will have room to grow. Mother and child are doing well, and the old man is feeling pretty comfortable, seeing that he now has a pair to draw for. His first was a boy.

Colorado Weekly Chieftain 2-6-1879 Walter Langley and wife, of the Huerfano, are rejoicing over the arrival of an eleven pound boy at their house on Sunday last, Dr. Thombs officiated and reports all, Walter included, as doing well.
