Terecita's Cemetery - Abandoned. Approximately 50 burials. - Located on the Mayer ranch northeast of the Huerfano river, east of the Doyle Cemetery. Note:1/2 mile north of the Cemetery are other burials. This is Terecita's Cemetery also known as Plaza Cemetery. It contains the graves of Maria Teresa (Terecita) Sandoval-Suazo, the most influential female in the earliest history of Southern Colorado / Northern New Mexico, and several others. The fountain type statue is the only marker that ifentifies where this cemetery was located. No other evidence remains.

As you can see, the statue is not very big and in the background, on the hill, where the red arrows are is the Doyle Cemetery.
