Wilhelmina M. Yates - Pueblo Chieftain - April 26, 2003 - Wilhelmina M. Yates died April 8, 2003, Pueblo, Colo. Born Oct. 18, 1924, Manhattan, Kan. Preceded in death by Norman, her husband of 46 years, in 1993. Survived by sons, Marvin (Lani), David (Rebecca Burton), and Danny (Denise); daughter Judy McGinnis; grandchildren, James Lloyd (Tracey) McGinnis, Jason (Janet) McGinnis, Adam (Jennifer) Yates, Dyana Yates, Mike Yates, and Sean (StellaFeliz) Yates; son-in-law, James McGinnis; and several great-grandchildren. Retired from the Colorado State Hospital, Mrs. Yates was a registered nurse who also worked at several nursing homes. Memorial service, 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2003, Pueblo Christian Center Chapel, 1605 S. Pueblo Blvd. Inurnment, Chapel of Angels, Imperial Memorial Gardens.

Eleanor W. Young - Pueblo Chieftain - August 02, 2004 - Eleanor W. Young, 88, passed away July 30, 2004. Survived by her children, Larry (Marjorie) Young of Pueblo, Marlene Young of Colorado City and Kay (Gary) Rankin of Pueblo; grandchildren, Tracey Young, Lorrie Dobson, Eric Rankin, Ryan Rankin, Erin Murray and Ian Murray; great-grandchildren, Mick Lollar, Mandi Lollar, Kristian Tillotson and Chloe Rankin; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Dayle; and daughter, DeNean Murray. Eleanor was born April 14, 1916, in Stratton, Colo. She was a certified occupational assistant at Colorado State Hospital. Viewing from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Funeral service, 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Young, Harold R. Sr.
Harold R. Young Sr. - Pueblo Chieftain - June 18, 2006 - Harold R. Young Sr. was called home by the Lord on June 13, 2006, at the age of 84. He was born in Denver to Algie Ralph and Mamie Lee Young on Oct. 22, 1921. Among his many endeavors Harold worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps building Monarch Pass and then for Colorado Coal Mines. During World War II, he served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. After returning from the war, he was employed at CF&I and the Pueblo Army Depot before finally choosing a career with the Colorado State Hospital Nursing Services where he retired after 30 years of faithful service. Harold loved the outdoors and spent much of his leisure time boating, fishing, hiking, and camping with his family. In recent years, he enjoyed watching and feeding the birds in his yard and gardening. Harold was a very caring and generous person who never met a stranger. He loved talking to people everywhere he went. He would often meet up with some friends at a local coffee shop to drink coffee and talk about whatever crossed their minds. He also made time to talk with his children and grandchildren to impart wisdom about life and how to be successful. He is preceded in death by his father, Algie R. Young; his mother, Mamie L. Young; his brother, Algie R. Young Jr.; and his only daughter, Loretta (Young) Smith. Harold's memory will live on through his devoted wife of 64 years, Wilhelmina Maria Young; his son, Harold R. (Margaret) Young Jr. of Pembroke, Ky.; son-in-law, Robert L. Smith Jr. (Jan) of Pueblo; granddaughters, Stephanie E. Nelson of Birmingham, Ala.; Cynthia Marie (Scott) Oby of Charlotte, N.C.; Nicole (Otis) Parker of Rolling Fork, Miss.; Victoria Young of Hopewell, Va.; and grandson Harold R. Young III of Chesterfield, Va. He is also survived by 4 great-granddaughters; 7 great-grandsons; sisters-in-law, Emma Johnson and Ellen Lomas of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Johney Brooks of Athens, N.Y., along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, Daphney Trahan, Wayne and Chris Smith, Rose Marchbanks, and Gwen Smith. Visitation, noon to 5 p.m. today, Angelus Chapel. Funeral service, 11 a.m. Monday, Bethlehem Baptist Church. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens. Military honors by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team.
